The day was Saturday, August 27, 2011. Tim told me he wanted to watch the sunrise with me. So he picked me up at the hour of 5AM. Yep. It was early. He said he had a special place he wanted to take me. So we drove to a little town in Kansas. ??
It just so happens that that little town in Kansas is the closest place to go on a hot air balloon ride.

So we went on a hot air balloon ride. That is pretty impressive. But, this is the guy took me on a helicopter the day he told me he loved me for the first time, so I tried not to get suspicious. :)
(If you haven't already figured it out, I have this thing for things that fly)
So after the incredible sunrise hot air balloon ride, we set off back towards Oklahoma. We stopped at a lake which happened to be where we had our first date (a picnic). He had recreated our first date down to what we ate, where we sat and what music we listened to (!!!!). So we had a romantic picnic, and took some tripod pictures...(because I just had a feeling I might want to document the day:)

At that point I thought a ring would appear. But nope! We packed up the picnic and left. :)
He drove to our favorite park. The park where we had many a date and walked around and had many a long talk. Also the park where we both played with our families as little kids. Before we knew each other. There he did the very gallant deed of carving our initials in a tree. I kid you not. He is quite the romantic.
After that feat, he walked over, gave me a wonderful speech about how much he loved me (at this point I was thinking that I probably don't deserve this guy :) and he got down on one knee and proposed.

Of course I said yes. At first I was very calm. No tears. I was actually wondering why I wasn't crying. But then I looked at the ring on my finger, at the man who would be my husband, at our initials in the tree, and I lost it. Tears tears tears. :)
I was definitely the happiest girl in the world. Still am! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to fall in love with such an amazing guy. August 27, 2011 was perfect.
